Default What to look for in a monks' weapon?

Im pretty new to the game, and especially new to being a monk and i am
wondering if you guys could give me some information about monks weapons.

Ive recently created a monk, whose level 7 (post-seering) and i dont know what to look for in a weapon (previously played as a ranger). Ive been offered a lot, but dont know if there any good.

Any advice would be great.

Cheers

I suggest you look at the Guild Wiki weapon page here: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Weapon and decide what types of weapons you prefer. Unlike rangers, monks are not really physical damage dealers, so it is more a question of which types of mods you prefer.

It should also be noted that you can get many of the weapons basically for free from late game Collectors. So, if you see a weapon that you'd like to try, see if there's a collector's equivilent first.

Depends what type of monk you want to be: healing, protection, or smite?

If you want to be smite that look for increase in extra energy, smite casting speed, smite recharge etc.

If you want to be healing or protection look for extra energy, casting speed, recharge and extra hit points because you'll be a target as a heal or protection monk.

To give you an example I play a healing monk and Brohn's staff is great for me!
